JOYCE MARY STANWAY

Passed away peacefully in her 88th year on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario. Beloved wife and best friend of M. Spencer Stanway for more than 65 years. Dear mother of Dale (Charlene) of Canmore, Alberta, loving grandmother of Kent (Barbara) of Gander, Newfoundland and Reid of Toronto, Ontario and very proud great grandmother of Layla. Sister of Denis (Rosemary) Williams, Doris Walmsley and Brenda (John) Thomas all of the United Kingdom and Peter (Shirley) Williams of Midland, Ontario. Joyce was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England and emigrated to Canada with Spencer and Dale in 1957. She spent over 50 happy years living in the home they all built together in Schomberg, Ontario. Joyce's special love of children developed during her training as a professional British nanny and before her marriage to Spencer she looked after a number of families around the Yorkshire area. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St., Newmarket, Ontario, L3Y 3Y9.
