BURT, Johanna Mary
Johanna (nee Van-Lane) died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 28, 2015, at Donway Place, in her 86th year. Until her stroke in January, Johanna was active with family and friends and enjoyed driving up to her town home in Lagoon City. Johanna leaves behind her children, Sandra Hutchison (Ted), Shelley Albertine (Mark) and Roberta Burt. Johanna was the grandmother of Thomas (Megan), Carly, Leah, Matthew, Cassandra, Victoria and Rachel. She was the daughter of Arthur and Mabel Van-Lane and sister of Arthur, Jeremy (Dorothy) and James (Dianne), aunt to many nephews and nieces, and had numerous long-time friends. Johanna taught for many years with the Toronto Board of Education. As per Jo's wishes, there will be no public service. A private family service will be held at the Van-Lane plot in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If you wish, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Johanna's name would be appreciated.
