Condolence: It was my last day of a three day bike ride from Montreal to Cobourg. A trip with a lot of firsts. First time cycling that distance. First time repairing a flat tire. When I first I arrived near Cobourg I was an absolute wreck. Opa, not really sure where I was at that point, set out to find me because I was way behind schedule. He drove about 10k outside of town before finally spotting me slugging along the side of the highway. I will always remember the uplift in energy I got when we met. And him shaking his head slightly in disbelief when I turned down the ride. Cobourg was much farther than I thought. When I saw him later that night he was waiting for me in his chair watching whatever was on TV, most likely baseball. And as I collapsed on the couch next to Oma he was very excited to hear how my trip went and surprised I would even do something like that. After such a long trip there was no where else I wanted to be more than sitting there with those two. Will miss you Opa!
