Life Story for Alfred William Watson

WATSON, Alfred William (Bompa) - Born September 28 1922, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on May 16 2009, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Georgina (Sutherland). Loving and loved father of the late Steven, Linda (Richard) Ansell of Newmarket, Dennis (Beverley) Watson of Waterloo and Janice (Brian) Arnold of Newmarket and the late Randall. Will be sadly missed and always remembered by his grandchildren Michael (Gail), Lori (Dave), Greg, Stephanie, Robert (Tess), Matt, Jason (Corina), and Meredith (Blair) and the late Christopher. Great-grandchildren Christopher, MacKenzie, Benjamin and Jacob will all miss their Bompa. Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Eliza, and his siblings Kenneth, Jack, Audrey, Jean and Dorothy. Fondly remembered by his in laws Camilla and Art Valleau, Edward and the late Jean MacMurray and many nieces and nephews. A lifelong “Rink Rat,” he will be sadly missed by his large hockey family, especially Lenny, Gene and Fred. Alf was a former employee of Canadian Acme Screw and Gear and the Town of Newmarket. Friends may call at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home 157 Main St. S., Newmarket (905) 895-6631 on Tuesday May 19th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday May 20th at 10:30 am. After cremation, interment will be private.
