Life Story for Edith Lorraine HOOVER (BARNES)

HOOVER, Edith Lorraine (nee BARNES) - Edith was a longtime resident of Newmarket and as an 80 year loyal Salvationist, and member of the Newmarket Salvation Army Corp, went to be with the Lord Peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2007. Predeceased by her husbands Gerald Preston, Reg Whitney and Nathaniel Hoover and her son Donald Preston and daughter-in-lawa Cindy Preston. Beloved mother of Bob Preston and his wife Linda, Reg Whitney and his wife Bev, Bill Preston and his wife Maureen, Dave Preston, Linda Graham and her husband Ed, and Barb Whitney and her husband Jim. Proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Millie and Laura and brothers Frank and Ken. Lovingly remembered by her daughters-in-law Sandra Preston and April Campbell and longtime friend Jean Budreau. Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket for visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at the Salvation Army Northridge Community Church, 415 Pickering Cres., Newmarket, on Wednesday at 11 a.m., followed by cremation. Donations to the Newmarket Salvation Army Northridge Community Church Building Fund would be appreciated. Special thanks to the caring staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre and to Major Brian and Glenda Bishop for their love and support.
