Life Story for Elmer Fried CHAPMAN

CHAPMAN, Elmer Fried (WWII Veteran
Essex Scottish Reg., Stretcher Bearer, Ex
POW, Col. Tilston V.C.-C.O., Barber for 10
years in Brampton and 21 years in Nobleton
and retired to Newmarket, Member of Happy
Hoppers Square Dancers, Carpet Bowling in
Holland Landing, Cards at "Young At Heart",
and an avid gardener who shared produce
with the neighbours) - Passed away
peacefully at Southlake Regional Health
Centre, with his wife by his side, on Monday,
March 27, 2006. Beloved husband to
Doreen for 59 years. Loving father of Derek
(Shelley), Marie (David Ramsay) and the
late Diane and David. Blessed with 5 grandchildren,
Mandy (Randy) Bell, Michelle,
Christine and Michael Ramsay and Darren
Chapman, 2 great grandchildren, Brandon
and Matthew, sister Florence. Uncle to
Michael, Larry and Martin and families
(Cann), brother-in-law of Derek and
Kathleen and family of England. Cremation
has taken place. A memorial service will be
held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
(Main & Water Street) Newmarket on
Saturday, April 1st at 11 a.m. In memory of
Chappie, memorial donations to the
Alzheimer Society of York Region would be
appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to
Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157
Main Street South, Newmarket.
