Condolence: We were lucky enough to be neighbours of Ian and Sandra's for 13 years. Ian is a man not to be forgotten. You could put music to Ian cutting his grass. Our thoughts are with you Sandra.

Condolence: Dear Sandra,
Jane joins me in sending you our sincere condolences at this sad time. Ian was a wonderfully kind and gentle person who we will all miss at special events on campus.
I particularly remember his sense of fun as Santa at the S.A.C. Staff Christmas parties where he entertained the young ones with great patience!
Take care; we hope to see you in the New Year.

Condolence From: John Ashton
Condolence: Dear Sandra and Family:
I am very sorry to learn of Ian's passing. As a Huron Heights colleague for eighteen years, I know that Ian was respected not only for his librarian skills, but for his advocacy for the betterment of both student and teacher issues. I remember Ian to be a kind and gentle social activist, and I was pleased to be a member of his political campaign when he ran for the provincial NDP. Ian was a good and decent man who made a difference, both in his school and in his community, and he will be missed by all those who knew him. We had many lively Federation meetings and Huron Heights staff parties at the Aurora Legion, and I'm sure Ian would be delighted to know that his friends and family will be gathered there in his memory on January 4th. I'm sorry I can't be there to celebrate his life with you, but I send my thoughts and deepest sympathies to you and all the Scott Family.
Sincerely, John Ashton, Sidney, BC.

Condolence: I feel truly fortunate to have seen Ian this fall while he and Sandra were moving to the new house. When Andy, Dad and I arrived, he was out in the garden wearing his OSSTF shirt. Three teachers...one lawn! Andy and I were quite proud.

Uncle Lion Ian was a "sure thing"; quiet but always ready with a smile and a chuckle....and it was a DEEP chuckle. He made for a very exciting Santa when I was growing up, but was a little skinny for the part the years he forgot the stomach pillow. (lol)

He was a terrific man and a most regal uncle. My mom was lucky to have such a devoted brother. I feel very for
fortunate to have known him.

Love Diane

Condolence: Ian was a well read man who could lead a lively debate and hold his own on every occasion. As a young teacher at Huron, I found his guidance to be invaluable in navigating the politics of education and his vast wealth of knowledge rescued with ease my research projects as I continued my education. He was always available, and could often be surrounded by piles of books and newspapers as he worked to keep up on all of the topics of the day. My condolences to you all.

Condolence: Dear Sandra and family:
Ian and I enjoyed many fun workouts at the gym over the years. He always had an interesting story to tell and gave me courage to face my future with a lot of hope and optimism. Because of Ian, I will never feel that I am too old to work out at a gym and actually have fun while I'm there.
Thinking of you Sandra and your family, Love Liz.

Condolence: I am sorry that I was unable to attend the memorial service. I knew Ian through OSSTF, seeing him each year at the dinner following the annual meeting. He was always so friendly, interesting and helpful. I made it a point to try to sit near him because he always left people feeling happy. What a great legacy!

Condolence: Dear Sandra,
I am so sorry to learn of the sad news. I so enjoyed your and Ian's company when we had lunch together at Niagara College with the Hort Society a couple of summers ago. Sending you my deepest condolences.
