SUMMERS (SCHWEIGHARDT), John Alphonsus  Surrounded by his loving family, our hero and gentle warrior, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2006 at Southlake Regional Hospital Cancer Care, in his 74th year. Much loved husband and best friend at Ann (Steiger). Most precious father of Teresa (Mike Ottaway), John (Liesa), Cathy, Steve (Terri) and Mark (Leslie). Cherished and devoted grandfather of Michael, Matthew and Luke Ottaway; Lia, Andrea, Tara, Danika, Julia, Kiera and their angel in heaven Maria Schweighardt; Laura, Hana, Jeni, Liesel and Stephen Schweighardt; Noah, Rachel and Will Summers. Beloved son of the late Stephen and Cecilia Schweighardt and brother of Helen (Connie Dutschek) and Steve Summers. Our heartfelt thanks to family and friends for their prayers and support. A special thank you to our friend and guardian angel, Mugs. We will forever be grateful for the care and compassion given by the medical staff at Southlake, particularly the cancer care team and the palliative care volunteers. Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. South, Newmarket for visitation on Sunday, August 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. John Chrysostom Church (Ontario and Main St.), Newmarket on Monday, August 21 at 10 a.m. Followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill.
