Obituary

SKOLUD, Josephine Anna – Passed away peacefully at Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket,
on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the age of 86.
Loving wife of Wilfred for 64 years. Beloved mother of Sue (Ted), Wilf (Cindy) and John (Janet).
Proud Oma of Christina (Adam), Laura, Rebecca (Jan), Devin, Robby and Sarah. Blessed Great-
Oma of Mia and Colton.

Known to most as Josie, she and her husband came to Canada from Austria in 1956. A hard
worker her entire life, she was the “commander-in-chief” of her home and took care of
everyone. Josie loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at the cottage with her husband,
tending to her garden, swimming, reading and baking seasonal treats for her grandkids. The
thing she loved most in the world was her family.

Special thanks to the caring staff at Odette Cancer Centre - Sunnybrook Hospital and Margaret
Bahen Hospice.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Margaret Bahen Hospice, the Canadian Cancer
Society or a charity of your choice.

John, I just wanted to offer my heartfelt condolences for your loss. I lost my own mother to cancer and I know that no matter how much time you have to prepare it is never enough. I can tell you that over time sorrow will dissipate and you will be left with the laughs, good memories and lots of stories. Take care my friend.

Finding comfort in the wonderful memories we had with you Oma. Especially, helping you water your garden, playing card games at the cottage and having long chats over coffee and cookies. I am so grateful for the time Mia and Colton spent with you. You will forever be loved and missed. Love always, Tina, Adam, Mia and Colton
