McMORINE, Kenneth Alexander - Surrounded by
family at Southlake Regional Health Centre,
Newmarket on Thursday, March 29, 2007 in his 76th
year, after a courageous battle. Ken McMorine,
beloved husband of Lily (nee Schultz) and dear father
of Jim McMorine and his wife Karen, of Kanata, and
Sharon McMorine and her husband Philip Thase, of
Aurora. Proud grandfather of Alexander and Bethany
McMorine and Stephanie and Gregory Thase. Brother
of Ian McMorine and his wife Terry, of Kingsbury,
Quebec, and survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ken joined Agriculture Canada, Plant Products
Division, in 1963 and worked in Winnipeg, Toronto and
Chatham until his retirement in 1993. Ken was a
member of the Agricultural Institute of Canada,
Ontario Institute of Agrologists, Professioal Institute of
Public Servants, Associate Member of Canadian Seed
Growers’ Association, and McGill University Alumni
Association. Ken enjoyed his volunteer activities with
C.N.I.B., Canadian Diabetes Association and his
active role in the Lutheran Church. Friends may call at
the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St.,
S., Newmarket on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and on
Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service in
the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations to the
Canadian Bible Society or the Princess Margaret
Hospital Foundation (Myeloma Research Fund) would
