Life Story for Lorne Alexander GIBNEY

GIBNEY, Lorne Alexander – It is with great sadness we announce his courageous passing on March 10th, 2007. He leaves to mourn his best friend and loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis. Adored father of Laurel (Bob Shaw), James (Elaine Mc Keracher), Tammie (Peter Werheid) and Jill (John Kellie). Precious grandfather of Ryan, Zachary, Brook, Miles, Brynn, Jessica, Katie, Kyley and Andrew. Proud great-grandfather of Evan, Dylan and Autumn Rose. Survived by his loving sisters, Beatrice (Ken Shaw), Marion (Don Thompson) and Audrey (Hunt Taylor, pre-deceased). Will also be sadly missed by sisters-in-law, June Scott and Laura Davidson. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews. Lorne had a wonderful life, full of travel and good times with his family and friends. He built his dream cottage on Wilson Island on Lake Muskoka and enjoyed many summers boating and relaxing on the lake. Lorne spent many happy retirement years at his lakeside home in Erinsville, Ontario. In recent years Lorne resided in Lagoon City where he could again enjoy spending time by the water he so loved. He had an award winning career in his chosen profession of advertising. He retired at the age of 61 as the Advertising Director of Canada at Canadian Tire Corp. As per Lorne’s wishes there will be no funeral service but rather a celebration of his life on March 24th, 2007 at 1 p.m. with visiting from 12 noon at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket 905-895-6631.
