Robert (Bob) L. Pruden
January 7, 1948-August 22, 2020

After a valiant nine-month battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family, beloved pets and his beautiful garden, he passed peacefully at home at the age of 72. He leaves behind his loving wife Sydna and beloved daughter Ashleigh. Brother to Dawn Pruden and Larry Pruden (Doreen) and brother-in-law Dave Thomas (Liz), niece Amy Pruden and nephew Ryan Thomas. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Grace. Bob was born and grew up in the North End of Winnipeg. He moved to Toronto in 1968 when he started his first job with the City of Toronto, where he has worked for over 52 years. Special thank you to the caring staff at Southlake Hospital, his oncologist Dr. Y. Rahim and his home nurse Maggie. We would also like to thank our wonderful family and friends for their support during this difficult time. Due to the current COVID situation a private memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28. If desired, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake Hospital.

Bob was my childhood friend, we grew up together in the Northend, we went through grade school and high school together. Some of my fondest memories were the great teen dances at Northwood CC . Bob and I reconnected years ago through Facebook, I will miss his great sense of humour he always made me laugh !! My deepest condolences to his wife, daughter and extended family. RIP Bob, you fought a hard battle !

Our deepest condolences to you Sydna and Ashleigh. Bob was a lovely man and he will be missed. His humour and candor while fighting cancer was an example of his extraordinary spirit. We have not met many people like Bob. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Much love from Jayson and Marg Horner xo

My deepest sympathy to you Sydna and your daughter Ashleigh. I don't remember Bob, but having viewed the memorial service, I got a glance into the man he was. It would seem that he truly enriched your lives and will surely be missed.

Thinking of you,
Trudy Wallis(Schaefer)

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Syd & Ashleigh. My last visit with my cousin Bob was such a special memory for me & my husband Ed. Since we live in Winnipeg I hardly got to see Bob. One time when we were in Ontario, I will never forget how excited he was that we came to visit him. He didn’t want us to leave. He wanted us to stay the night. He was like a child at Christmas time. He was so excited we came to visit. We had such a good time with Bob & his family. He made us feel so special. He has such a big heart. That memory I will always hold dear in my heart. It means so much to me. Till we meet again “cus”. Love Karen.

Syd and, I hope many stories will be told about Bob...because as you know he had many experiences worth telling stories I am reminiscing about the good and bad trouble we got into together over more than 60 years, although Bob would blame the bad stuff on your special guy and will miss him...but not before I tell some of these stories to my sons, and in so doing, keep his spirit Bob
