As you know I spent 8 days recently with my dad at Southlake and have returned tonight from spending 24 hours of summer fun with him at the cottage.

These times are precious to me as like you I know that our time with him is limited.

A truly great loss to everyone but he fought a great battle with his cancer and now may he rest in peace.
I was just thinking of the years we have been great friends…Christopher and my son Kevin were only 8 years old when my first husband Gary and Gerry were their hockey coaches here in Calgary.
We sure ad some great times! Lots of cherished memories for sure.
I am sorry I can not be there for the memorial but in my heart I will be there and I will be thinking of all of you.
Mary - I do know what you are going through & will be going through after losing my second husband Kurt to AML Leukemia in December - so please remember that I am here for you and will be staying in touch and please pick up that phone and call me any time day or night when you need someone to talk too!
When it gets too quiet at home after the memorial - just pick up the phone - I am here for you at any time OK.
And Kurt - you make sure you look after Gerry up there in Heaven!
You both can swap fishing stories!
