PROKOPCHUK Ivan - Passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital, Toronto, on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in his 77th year. Son of Dmytro and Paraska (Pearl) Prokopchuk, deceased. Father of Stephen Smith and Jill Smith. Survived by sisters Mary Wecherkiwsky and Anna (Anne) Kowalchuk. A long-time resident of Newmarket, Ontario, Ivan was a writer, teacher, musician and local activist. Ivan's colourful life was filled with humour, quirks, and an enormous passion for literature and music. Donations in his name can be made to the North York General Hospital.
