Ian was a well read man who could lead a lively debate and hold his own on every occasion. As a young teacher at Huron, I found his guidance to be invaluable in navigating the politics of education and his vast wealth of knowledge rescued with ease my research projects as I continued my education. He was always available, and could often be surrounded by piles of books and newspapers as he worked to keep up on all of the topics of the day. My condolences to you all.
