To Vi Smith from Vi Gann (Sue'S Mum) You bravely left your English homeland, a war bride, with two children by your side. You had no idea what lay ahead. You did not worry; you put your faith in Charles instead. You built a house in Willowdale, and settled down to married life. The years sped by, your family increased in size. There were now seven mouths to feed. So for Charles, extra shifts on the bus were the need. In nineteen sixty one "dad" had saved and enough to purchase a cottage on a lake. Thereafter summers were glorious fun times, spent learning to swim, water ski and fish. "Dad" arrived on his days off, loaded down with supplies and goodies for his kids. Through the ensuing years,Vi and I shared many stories of the children and now of course we share grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I wasn't lucky enough to have borne son of my own, but I count myself blessed and I think you dear Vi for sharing your son Les with me.
