I first met Vi and Charlie at Anstruther Lake, they had built their cottage but my self being straight off the boat from England had no idea on how to build a cottage. We managed in the end, and have many happy memories of time spent with the Smiths. Vi amazed me, when we first met here she was at the cottage with seven children, the youngest being 4 weeks old. No Hydro and no running water,but she managed with a smile and her positive attitude. She really was a remarkable women, and Charlie was always there to support her, and of course all of the older children. We will all miss her but we will have always the wonderful memories spent at the Lake with the Smith's and of course Vi.
